Started as a speedpaint for CGTalk, but ended up being more fan arty than anticipated. I hadn't set out to paint Jack Sparrow, but as with most things, he just sort of sneaks in. Oh well.

It's rough, and I got bored with it so there's still a lot that ought to be done on the background, but I figured I'd post it anyway.

He just sneaks out. It's the truth. I know from experience. You start doodling out of boredom, the next thing you know, you have a full blown drawing of Jack. Even if it never was intended to be Jack. Blasted man, demanding so much attention. ;)

Anyways, really wonderful picture! I love the simple setting. It's very calming, very soft. You did excellent on capturing Jack as well. I love his subtle smile. :D

I love how he's checking the charts on desk, rather than in his cabin like most captains would. That really goes with his character :D

Lovely work on the outfit. Did you reference the design or do you just have a piratey brain? Either way 'tis awesome.
