I was playing with mixing mythologies.

Anyway, so about a month or so ago I got the urge to actually put my gorgeous studio space to work and start doing some more work in traditional mediums. It's been a LOOOONG time since I tried oils and my last few attempts (over eight years ago) were, shall we say, less than stellar. I'd been reading some of Dan Dos Santos's oil painting tutorials ([link]), and decided I'd give it a try.

His wrist is a little thick, but I think I'm going to leave it as is. I learned a lot from doing this one and can't wait for the right idea to strike for the next.

I wish my camera was better, or I had a tripod. You'll have to deal with my bad photography skills, sorry. This is slightly color corrected from the original, since I have to wait to varnish it, and until I do the blacks are a little faded in person.
